Mike Doyle lives in upstate New York and Killington, VT. He is an award winning journalist specializing in downhill and cross country skiing. Mike is the recipient of the the North American Snowsports Journalists Association 2007 Harold S. Hirsch Award for Internet Writing.
Experience:
Mike grew up in New York snow country. Having skied at almost every resort in the East, Mike spent two years in Europe skiing at most of the popular and many little known ski areas. Returning to the United States, Mike worked in the ski industry in the East, then made the rounds out West and through the Midwest.
Mike spends much of his time on the ski slopes and writing about skiing. In addition to covering skiing for About.com, he shares his expertise with news and sports media, both online and in print. He has been quoted in USA Today, the Miami Herald, the Indianapolis Star, the Oakland Tribune, and many other publications.
He is a member of the Eastern Ski Writers Association, a division of the North American Snowsports Journalists Association (NASJA).
